Faith Mission & Learning
From Director of Faith, Mission & Learning
On Wednesday Mr Hoare and Mr Clarke visited the Jesuit Refugee Service distiribution site, to deliver the items donated by our generous St Andrew’s staff and students during the food drive. This was a magnificent effort, which was an initiative of the year 10 students who participated in the Faith in Action day, as a response to the needs of refugees who have arrived in Australia.
Michael Melville of JRS gratefully accepted our donation and passed on his thanks and those of the JRS to the St Andrew’s community.
In Religious education this term, year 8 has been studying the Corporal Works of Mercy within the unit Easter Experiences. Miss Tan’s class completed an inquiry task where they were required to research examples of people who demonstrate a life of service faithful to the gospel, reaching out to others by living out the Corporal works of mercy.
Congratulations to year 8 and Miss Tan on your excellent examples of learning in RE.
